Does your Android phone support eSIM?
Android is a big family, and eSIM support varies by brand, model, and even region. So instead of a list that cannot be trusted, use the 30-second test: open the dial pad, type *#06#, and look for a line labeled EID. EID means eSIM.
The test that settles it
Open your phone's dial pad and type *#06# like a phone number. A screen of device codes appears.
If you see a line labeled EID, your phone has eSIM hardware. If there is no EID line, it does not.
Second check: open Settings and search for eSIM or Add SIM. If your settings offer to add or download a SIM, eSIM is enabled on your phone.
Both checks matter. A few phones have the hardware but shipped with eSIM disabled by the carrier or for the region, which is why we do not publish model lists we cannot stand behind.
The broad picture by brand
Samsung and Google Pixel have their own pages, linked below, because their support is well established.
Motorola, Sony, Xiaomi, OPPO, OnePlus, Honor, Nothing, and Fairphone all sell models with eSIM, mostly in their recent mid-range and flagship lines. Which exact models qualify differs by region, so run the *#06# test on your phone rather than trusting a chart.
Phones bought in mainland China often ship without eSIM even when the global version has it.
Whatever the brand, the phone must also be carrier-unlocked. A locked phone refuses any SIM but its carrier's.
How to install an eSIMion eSIM on Android
Your eSIM arrives by email with three ways to install. Menu names differ slightly between brands, but the flow is the same.
Easiest: open the email on the phone and tap the install link.
QR code: go to Settings, then Network & Internet (or Connections), then SIMs or SIM manager, then Add eSIM. Scan the QR code from the email displayed on another screen.
Manual: in the Add eSIM screen, choose to enter the code manually and paste the LPA string from the email.
The install code works once. If an install fails partway, use the retry option on your install page or email support@esimion.com.
After the install
Set the eSIM as your mobile data SIM and turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM line only. Keep your home SIM on for calls and texts, with its data roaming off.
