China Unicom eSIM for travelers
Our travel eSIM plans for China connect to the China Unicom network. If you searched for an eSIM for China Unicom coverage on a trip, this page explains exactly what we sell and where it works.
We are not China Unicom
eSIMion is not China Unicom, and we do not sell China Unicom SIM cards, China Unicom plans, or China Unicom top-ups. If you are a China Unicom customer looking for your own account, contact China Unicom directly.
What we sell is a prepaid travel eSIM. In China, that eSIM connects to the China Unicom network for data. You get local coverage without a China Unicom contract, a store visit, or a local sign-up.
How a travel eSIM on the China Unicom network works
You buy the plan before your trip and it arrives by email with a tap-to-install link and a QR code. When you land, your phone connects to China Unicom's towers and data works. Your home SIM stays in place and your number does not change.
Where China Unicom has built out 5G, you get 5G on supported plans. Elsewhere you get 4G, which is fine for maps, messaging, and video calls.
The plan is data only. It does not come with a local phone number, so calls and texts to your regular number still arrive through your home SIM.
Our China plans on China Unicom
Our China eSIM plans ride on China Unicom. The China page lists every plan size, validity, and what to expect from the network on the ground.
