eSIMion

Vodafone eSIM for travelers

Our travel eSIM plans connect to the Vodafone network in 11 countries. If you searched for an eSIM for Vodafone coverage on a trip, this page explains exactly what we sell and where it works.

We are not Vodafone

eSIMion is not Vodafone, and we do not sell Vodafone SIM cards, Vodafone plans, or Vodafone top-ups. If you need help with your Vodafone account, contact Vodafone directly.

What we sell is a prepaid travel eSIM. In the countries listed below, that eSIM connects to the Vodafone network for data. You get local coverage without signing a contract with Vodafone, making a store visit, or completing a local sign-up.

How a travel eSIM on the Vodafone network works

You buy the plan before your trip and it arrives by email with a tap-to-install link and a QR code. When you arrive, your phone connects to Vodafone's towers (or a partner network, depending on the country) and data works. Your home SIM stays in place and your number does not change.

Where Vodafone has built out 5G, you get 5G on supported plans. Elsewhere you get 4G, which is fine for maps, messaging, and video calls.

The plan is data only. It does not come with a local phone number, so calls and texts to your regular number still arrive through your home SIM.

Where our plans use the Vodafone network

Plans that connect to Vodafone are available for Azores, Czechia, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Madeira, Portugal, Qatar, Ukraine and Vatican City. Each country page lists the plan sizes and what the network is like on the ground.

Vodafone across Europe and the Middle East

Vodafone covers 11 countries in our catalog: Italy, Portugal, Azores, Madeira, Greece, Czechia, Hungary, Ukraine, Egypt, Qatar, and Vatican City. The Azores and Madeira run on the same Vodafone Portugal network, so they work with a Portugal plan.

Vatican City is served by Vodafone Italy. Coverage inside the Vatican walls is consistent, since the area is small and densely served by Rome's networks.

Network depth by country

Italy and Portugal have some of the strongest Vodafone networks in Europe, with 5G in major cities and 4G through most of the countryside. Greece is similar: 4G is solid in Athens, Thessaloniki, and the main island chains, including Santorini, Mykonos, and Crete.

In Czechia and Hungary, Vodafone runs a competitive 4G and 5G network concentrated in cities and transport corridors.

In Qatar, coverage is reliable across Doha and the main urban areas. Egypt's Vodafone network is strongest in Cairo, Alexandria, and the Red Sea resort towns.
