MTN eSIM for travelers
Our travel eSIM plans connect to the MTN network in 3 countries. If you searched for an eSIM for MTN coverage on a trip, this page explains exactly what we sell and where it works.
We are not MTN
eSIMion is not MTN, and we do not sell MTN SIM cards, MTN plans, or MTN top-ups. If you are a MTN customer looking for your own account, contact MTN directly.
What we sell is a prepaid travel eSIM. In the countries listed below, that eSIM connects to the MTN network for data. You get local coverage without a MTN contract, a store visit, or a local sign-up.
How a travel eSIM on the MTN network works
You buy the plan before your trip and it arrives by email with a tap-to-install link and a QR code. When you land, your phone connects to MTN's towers (or a partner network, depending on the country) and data works. Your home SIM stays in place and your number does not change.
Service on these plans is 4G LTE. Speeds are fine for maps, messaging, and video calls.
The plan is data only. It does not come with a local phone number, so calls and texts to your regular number still arrive through your home SIM.
Where our plans use the MTN network
Plans that connect to MTN are available for Eswatini, Liberia and Nigeria. Each country page lists the plan sizes and what the network is like on the ground.
